Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use refreshcarpetcleaning.ie or book our services, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the control you have over it.
1. Who we are
Emerald Shine Cleaning, trading as Refresh Carpet Cleaning ("we", "our", "us"), is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
- Address: 62 Hunters Ave, Hunterswood, Ballycullen, Dublin 24, D24 K4H2
- Email: grant@refreshcarpetcleaning.ie
- Phone: 089 200 8715
2. Information we collect
When you contact us or request a quote
Our quote form asks for your name, phone number and email address, and optionally your Eircode and a description of the work. You can also reach us by phone, email or WhatsApp, in which case we hold whatever you choose to tell us.
When you book a service
Your address, appointment details, access instructions, preferences and any feedback you give us.
When you browse the website
If, and only if, you agree to analytics or marketing cookies: your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and time spent on the site. If you decline, we do not collect this.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To quote for and deliver your cleaning — performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one.
- To respond to enquiries and provide support — performance of a contract, or our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
- To keep records for tax and insurance — compliance with a legal obligation.
- To understand how the website is used, and to measure our advertising — your consent, given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time.
- To send offers or service updates by email — your consent. Every message includes an unsubscribe link.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with:
- Formspree — delivers our website quote form to us. The details you enter in that form pass through their systems. Formspree is based in the United States, so this involves a transfer outside the EEA, made under the safeguards described in their privacy policy.
- Google (Analytics and Ads) — only where you have accepted analytics or marketing cookies, to measure site usage and advertising performance.
- Service providers who help us operate the website or deliver our services, under contract and only on our instructions.
- Legal authorities, where required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
When you first visit, a banner asks how you want to be tracked. Nothing beyond strictly necessary storage is set until you choose, and you can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
- Essential — make the site work and remember your cookie choice. Always on; these do not require consent.
- Analytics — tell us how many people visit and which pages they use. Off unless you accept.
- Marketing — measure our advertising and allow relevant ads to be shown. Off unless you accept.
We record your choice for six months, after which we ask again. Declining does not limit your use of the site.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become bookings: 12 months.
- Customer and booking records: 6 years, to meet Revenue and insurance requirements.
- Marketing consent: until you withdraw it.
- Cookie and analytics data: as set out in the cookie banner and by the retention settings in our analytics tools.
7. How we protect it
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure or loss, and limit access to those who need it to do their job.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Have your data deleted, in certain circumstances.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it.
- Receive your data in a portable format, or have it sent to another provider.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it. This does not affect anything done before you withdrew.
To exercise any of these, email grant@refreshcarpetcleaning.ie. We respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Irish supervisory authority, the Data Protection Commission, at 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date. Where a change materially affects how we use your data, we will make that clear.
